Well kept campground with friendly people. Very nice premium lots, plenty of camping cabins, large Tee Pees for unique camping and very nice wooded lots, beautiful lake, pool and so much more. A true award winning campground.
Restroom and shower facilities were clean, and available at 3 different areas of the campground.
Firstly, the cabins all have AC now, which was amazing with it being in the upper 80s all weekend. The pool is the same as when I was little but the signs are now yellow/gold instead of white so are easier to read. The cabin itself was completely redone on the inside, had no bad odors or anything and was super clean! The bed mattress was very thin but luckily we were able to get a cheap pad from Walmart for extra padding. Watch site has a fire ring and if you don't have firewood you can buy a very nice sized bundle for $7 from the store, it was dry and burnt really good. The bathrooms are kept up really well and very clean. The bathroom behind the lake (and right across from our cabin) was unisex and sometimes you had to wait a little bit for a shower but never too long.
Sites are descent. Rec/game room smells like mildew. Suppose to have a petting zoo but they rent the animals and they were not there during our stay. The petting zoo was an attraction for us so that was disappointing. In all honesty, I should have confirmed the petting zoo since it is end of season. No bouncy pillow. Real pretty area
All in all, this campground is perfect for a family. Lots to do, cheap rates, air conditioning and very clean. 5/7 would recommend!
Great campground a short drive from Erie. Well maintained grounds and sites.
A wide variety of activities are available, such as crafts and activities for kids, bike rentals, fishing, paddle boats, heated outdoor pool, & evening movies.
The campground does activities for kids every weekend. They have a pavilion that they showed a movie in, they had a fishing tournament where half the entry fee ($2) goes to charity and the other half to the winner, all-you-can-eat pancakes on Sunday mornings The arcade has a lot of fun games, two pool tables and an ice hockey table. You also can now rent those pedal carts you see on boardwalks. We didn't but it's nice for kids.
This is a great place to stay for a trip to lake Erie. About a 25 minute drive to Presque Isle state park and Waldameer amusement park.
There are back-in and pull-through sites for campers, and well-shaded sites for tent camping. Cabins and "tee-pees" are also available to rent.
The office/store has a good selection of supplies if you forget something, as well as firewood and souvenirs. The office/store building also houses a recreation/laundry are with coin laundry and pool tables, ping pong, and air hockey.
This KOA is awesome. I used to come with my grandparents when I was little and knew there are new owners now so didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the KOA cleanliness and quality is equal to and in some cases improved from when I last visited 12 years ago.
My only complaint would be the noise. The campground is just off I79, and the highway noise travels over the adjacent farmland. Maybe not as bad if you're in a camper, but it was somewhat distracting in our tent while trying to sleep.
Wonderful staff, exceptionally clean and we'll maintained. I would highly recommend this campground to my family and friends and anyone who is looking for a great camping experience which includes a playground, swimming pool, horseshoes etc. It's a great time. To the owner and staff Thank You.
